AEW Dynamite Results: Cody Takes Ten Lashes From MJF, Britt Baker Vs. Yuka Sakazaki

Jon Moxley vs. Ortiz (with Santana)

This is Ortiz's first singles match in AEW. Moxley still rocking the eye patch. AEW World Champino Chris Jericho heads out with Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara, the group heads over to commentary. Santana already trying to distract Moxley, but no luck as Moxley drops Ortiz with a clothesline and he bounces to the floor. Moxley grabs a chair to chase Ortiz back into the ring. Moxley catches Ortiz's kick and throws him down to the mat. Ortiz gets the referee's attention, Santana trips up Moxley, Ortiz drops him and hits a running dive, cover, two. Ortiz tosses Moxley out to the floor and sends him into the barricade. Moxley launched into the steps.

Back in the ring, Ortiz beats up Moxley some more, grinding his forearm across Moxley's bad eye, sitdown powerbomb, cover, two. Moxley tosses Ortiz out to the floor and hits a suicide dive on Santana. Moxley then sends Ortiz into the crowd. They work their way back into the ring, Ortiz with some chest scratches, sends Moxley out to the floor, Ortiz with a flip out to the floor. Back in the ring, Ortiz with a diving splash off the top rope, cover, two. Fisherman's suplex, another two-count. Santana on the apron, Ortiz mistakenly knocks him off, Moxley with paradigm shift for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Jon Moxley via Pinfall

– Post-match, Moxley stares over at Jericho at commentary, but Santana attacks him from behind. Moxley then hits a paradigm shift to clear him out. Moxley then holds up the key to Jericho's Ford GT. Moxley then looks at Jericho and says "eye for an eye!" He jabs Santana's eye with the key before Hager and Guevara can get to the ring. Moxley heads off through the crowd and taunts Jericho a bit more as medical personnel checks on Santana.

SCU vs. Best Friends (with Orange Cassidy)

Back and forth action, Kazarian and Trent trade chops until Kazarian punches him right in the face. Trent drops him with double knees, then tags in Chuck Taylor. Double elbow drop, Kazarian able to get to his corner to tag in Sky. Taylor with a side headlock, Sky flips out of it, Taylor with a shoulder tackle, Sky with a kip up. Taylor with a kick to the stomach, but eats a back elbow. Second rope moonsault by Taylor, lands on his feet. Kazarian tagged in and goes to work on the Best Friends.

Sky with an over the top cutter on Taylor. Sky heads to the floor, sends Trent to the barricade, but Trent explodes out with a spear. All four guys go after each other and end up down on the floor. Cassidy strolls over, sees everyone is down and lays down with them as we go to break. Back in the ring, Kazarian with a backstabber. Sky tags in and hits a standing double stomp on Trent's back. Kazarian tagged in, assisted swinging DDT, cover, two. Best Friends able to recover and take out SCU for a moment, big hug! Best Friends look for strong zero, but sky pulls Taylor down off the apron, hits a big boot sending Kazarian into a yoshi tonic on Trent for the victory.

Winners: SCU via Pinfall

- Post-match, Dark Order minions and Grayson hit the ring and attack both teams. Evil Uno slowly makes his way to the ring as his group sends the other teams out of the floor. Dark order line up and do their taunt, but Cassidy gets into the ring. Uno offers up a mask to Cassidy. He passes and immediately gets attacked by the group. Christopher Daniels runs out and tells them to fight him. The group ends up sliding out of the ring. Uno talks in Grayson's ear as Daniels yells at the group. The Dark Order then exit the ringside area.

- Earlier today, Taz talks Cody taking ten lashes from MJF. Says it will be tough to watch, feels like MJF is taking things a bit too far (admitting he's seen plenty of violent things in his day). Taz says it also validates how badly Cody wants to get his hands on MJF at Revolution.

Britt Baker vs. Yuka Sakazaki

Both wrestlers trade wristlocks on each other. Baker beats up Sakazaki in the corner and hammers her with a big boot, cover, two. Sakazaki with a hurricanrana, leaps to the top rope and hits a seated senton. Baker heads out to the floor, but Sakazaki follow with a splash off the top rope. Crowd with a "Yuka!" chant as she hits a sliding clothesline in the ring, pin, two-count.

Flurry of strikes by Sakazaki, but runs right into a thrust kick. Baker with a swinging neckbreaker, cover, two. Baker goes right into lockjaw, pulls the hair, but the hold gets broken. Sakazaki with a crucifix pin and gets the 1-2-3!

Winner: Yuka Sakazaki via Pinfall

- Post-match, Baker gets the ring bell and whacks Sakazaki over the back with the bell. She goes to swing again and Aubrey Edwards takes it away. Baker then puts Yuka's mouth around the bottom rope and stomps her head down on it. Blood is coming out of Yuka's mouth and she broken one of Yuka's teeth! Baker then puts lockjaw on Yuka once again. Edwards gets her to break the hold and checks on Yuka.

Kenny Omega, Adam Page, and The Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros, The Butcher, and The Blade (with The Bunny)

Page comes out first for his group, waits, but nobody is behind him at first, so he just goes to the ring. Bucks and Kenny do their usual entrance. Things off to a quick start as The Elite has a ton of quick tags to beat up The Blade. Bucks with a bunch of dropkicks, then a triple dropkick (with Omega) on Butcher. Kenny and The Bucks then a triple splashes over the top ropes. Page doesn't seem to interested until the other team all jump back in the ring. Everyone brawls, The Elite gets sent out to the floor and Fenix hits huge springboard senton on all four guys.

Nick going to town on pretty much the entire other team. Matt tags in, catches Fenix off the top rope and hits three northern lights suplex, then a fourth one with both Pentagon and Fenix. Omega is tagged in, Matt tries to set up something, Fenix escapes, goes to the top turnbuckle leaps off Omega's shoulder to arm drag Matt. Backstabber by Pentagon on Omega. Pentagon with a dropkick off the top rope to Omega's backside. Fenix continues to beat him and tags in The Butcher. Omega just gets pummeled by The Butcher. Omega looks for a hurricanrana, hits it, tags in Page. Pentagon is in, Page boots Blade off the apron. Takes Fenix out with a splash. Back in the ring, Page with a belly-to-belly suplex, kip up,

Page to the top rope and hits a moonsault on all four opponents on the floor. Things really breaking down now with pretty much everybody in the ring no just swinging away on each other. Butcher with powerbomb on Nick, cover, Omega breaks it up. He then hits snap dragon suplexes on Fenix, Pentagon, and Blade. Tries to get Butcher, no luck there. Young Bucks in there now and beat up Butcher. Page tags in Matt goes for a buckshot lariat, misses. Superkicks, v-triggers land, Page with a buckshot lariat and takes down Blade.

Page with a fallaway slam on Butcher, kip up, Page selling a knee injury. Omega wants the tag, but Blade pulls him off the apron. Bucks want a tag, Page passes, turns around and eats a slingblade, penta driver hits on Page, Fenix clears out the Young Bucks. Pentagon with the cover on Page and the victory. Young Bucks aren't happy with how that went down.

Winners: The Blade, The Butcher, and Lucha Bros via Pinfall

- Post-match, Matt and Nick arguing with Page. Omega trying to play peacemaker as Page bounces from the ring (looking for a beer) and heads out through the crowd.

- Tony Schiavone in the ring with Kenny Omega, but we cut to the back with PAC standing with Lexy Nair and Riho. He tells Lexy to get out and then threatens Riho, just asking Omega for his match. Omega instantly says he's got his match (no date for the match is given). PAC says he wouldn't ever put his hands on a woman, "I may be a bastard, but I'm not a beast." Nyla Rose then charges out and powerbombs Riho through a table. She then tells Riho next week, she's coming after her. Commentary says it'll be a match for Riho's title.

- Darby Allin vignette, we see flashbacks to Allin getting thrown down on his skateboard, neck first. Allin is outside and there's a cardboard cutout of Jericho and Sammy hugging. Allin has a flamethrower and burns up the cutout.

Kip Sabian (with Penelope Ford) vs. Joey Janela

The two just begin wildly brawling with each other as the match gets started. Sabian gets the initial advantage, but Janela then gets a pinfall attempt for only two. Sabian with a snap mare, kick to the back, and it has zero effect on Sabian. He does it back to Sabian, slaps him in the head, then ask Sabian to try another one. Sabian goes for one but ends up just applying a choke hold. The two end up on the apron, Janela charges in, gets tripped and his head bounces off the steel steps. Ford strolls up to a loopy Janela and then whips his head into the steps a second time.

Back from break, both wrestler are in the ring. Sabian with a suplex on Janela as the crowd chants "Let's go Joey!" Sabian to the apron, springboards in, Janela sends him back out and hits a suicide dive. He catches Ford coming at him again, but Sabian with a penalty kick from the apron. Sabian with a top rope flip, gets caught, and takes a german suplex on the floor. Both guys trading big shots, Janela plants Sabian hard on the mat, cover, two.

Janela with multiple forearms to the face, discus lariat, no, Sabian with a DDT. Ford up on the apron, kisses Sabian, Janela charges in, Sabian moves and hits Ford off the floor. Sabian rolls up Janela, gets a handful of tights for the 1-2-3. Ford is helped to the back by Sabian.

Winner: Kip Sabian via Pinfall

- Backstage, Alex Marvez tries to talk with Inner Circle. Jericho takes the mic and kicks him out. Jericho wonders what kind of trash would spike a man in the eye! Jericho says Moxley is going to pay for what he did. Santana takes the mic and says he's had a bad month, but now he's going to bring out something that Moxley has never seen. Santana says next week he wants a match with Moxley.

- Backstage, Lexy tries to get a word with Page. Young Bucks asks Page what his problem is, he should have made the tag. Nick says if he keeps acting this way he's gonna lose those title next week against SCU. Matt says he knows what the problem is, and takes Page's cup of beer away. The brothers head off, Page looks to think about that for a moment, then randomly brings up a pitcher of beer and drinks some.

- In two weeks, a Tag Team Battle Royal is announced for a title shot at Revolution on February 29. PAC vs. Kenny Omega in a 30-Minute Ironman Match in three weeks.

- Earlier today, Dustin Rhodes comments on MJF giving Cody ten lashes, saying it will be very uncomfortable for him and the world to watch. Dustin tells MJF that Cody is a lot tougher than MJF thinks and says Cody's got this.

- MJF and Wardlow head out to the ring first. Cody then follows as we got to break. Cody takes his shirt off, but Cody takes the mic first before getting to the lashes. MJF says his belt is too nice for this, and says he wants Cody's belt. Cody doesn't like it, but hands it over. There's also a referee in the ring to count the lashes. He cracks Cody's over his shoulder. The Butcher, The Blade, Kip Sabian, The Bunny, Britt Baker, and Sammy Guevara come out to the stage to watch. MJF cracks him again and Cody gets in his face. MJF tells him to hit him, but he doesn't. MJF hits a third time and Cody goes down to the mat for a moment.

Out from the back comes Arn Anderson to encourage Cody to get up. MJF yells at Arn, "You can't help him, old man!" MJF with a fourth shot on the arm. Cody down, and then back up again for another one. Fifth one lands right in the middle of the back. MJF yells at Cody to quit. Dustin Rhodes is now coming down to the ring. He actually gets inside and says something to MJF, but Wardlow gets in the way. Dustin says he'll take the other five. MJF says that's not how this works, it has to be Cody. He tells Dustin to get out and watch, like everybody else.

Sixth and seventh lashes are quick ones and Cody falls down to the mat as Dustin cheers him on. Young Bucks head out to the ring as MJF yells for Cody to quit. Young Bucks encourage him a bit as Cody rolls out of the ring. He gears back up for the next shot. MJF hits an either one right in the middle of the ring, "stay down, b—-!" MJF yells. Cody signals he has two more, then gives MJF the middle finger. Wardlow then asks MJF to do the ninth shot, MJF hands over the belt and Warlow hits Cody with the hardest shot of them all! Ow!

Brandi Rhodes then walks out to the ring and holds Cody's hand. He says he has one more as Cody kisses her hand. Cody tearing up and he stands up for the final shot. The last shot MJF hits him in the chest (not sure if he was aiming for the face or not). MJF seemed mad that Cody actually made it through all ten of them. Cody's supporters get in the ring to help Cody. MJF then kicks Cody between the legs and MJF / Wardlow runs out through the crowd as the AEW roster run out to the ring. It looks a fan may have tried to get to MJF, but MJF, Wardlow and security threw some punches and held him down.
