Impact Wrestling Results (6/28): Rascalz Vs. LAX With Laredo Kid, Brian Cage Update, Sami Callihan

Last week, the Impact Knockouts Championship was on the line as Taya Valkyrie defended her title against Su Yung. Because of Jessicka Havok interfering in the match, Valkyrie came out with the win, and is still the Knockouts Champion. Father James Mitchell proposed a match for Slammiversary. It will be a fatal four-way Monster's Ball for the Impact Knockouts Championship featuring Valkyrie (c), Yung, Havok, and Rosemary. With another victory for Tessa Blanchard against oVe member, Jake Crist, this did not settle well with Sami Callihan. Callihan sent a message to Blanchard, challenging her to an equal opportunity match at Slammiversary, in hopes that he'll prevail. Speaking of prevailing, during Eddie Edwards match against Madman Fulton, Killer Kross came up on the screen and sent a message to Edwards, by waterboarding his new friend, Sandman. Edwards throughout the night looked high and low backstage to find Kross. When he did, Edwards couldn't stop himself and continued beating Kross senseless. This caused Edwards wife, Alisha Edwards, to have some uneasy thoughts about her husband once again. TJP made his Impact return during a call out match from Ace Austin. The high flyer beat Austin, and hopes to rise to the top in Impact.

The main event match of the night was a triple threat match with Johnny Impact vs. Michael Elgin vs. Rich Swann. With Impact and Elgin so focused on their own rivalry that began two weeks ago, they forgot how dominate Swann is, and both men lost to Swann. When the match ended, both Impact and Elgin were arguing over the X that represents the X Division match that will be happening at Slammiversary, that they panicked the moment that Brain Cage made his early comeback from injury and ran into the ring, attacking both of them.

Josh Mathews begins the show by welcoming viewers to Impact Wrestling. The first match of the night is announced.

The North vs. The Deaners

Josh Alexander and Cousin Jake begin the match up. Several takedowns from Alexander to Jake. After a rollup, Jake tags in Cody Deaner. Deaner is not in the ring for too long, and tags Jake back in again. Both Ethan Page and Alexander back Jake into their corner and do numerous kicks and hits. During one point in the match up, Alexander is busted open in between the eyes. Cody is back in the ring and hits Alexander right where he is injured in the face. A tag is made by Page. A fan yells out "The North Sucks." Page replies "Yeah they're really sucking now moron." Deaner is down on the mat and then gets thrown over to one corner side of the ring. Page goes over to knock Jake off the ring, to keep him from interfering in the match. Page now has Deaner in a headlock, which he is able to get out of. Jake is tagged in and suplexes Alexander to the mat. He then goes over to Page and knocks him off the ring. Alexander then goes for an angle lock on Jake. Deaner is tagged in. He climbs up the top rope and jumps off, landing on Alexander. Deaner goes for the pin, but only gets a 2 count. Several chest slaps come from Alexander and then once he stops Jake goes in for some himself. Jake hits a clothesline with both men down. Jake goes for the cover and gets a 2 kick out. Deaner goes up on the second rope, and Page is holding his left ankle. Page then gets the tag and takes out Jake, for a 3 count.

Winner: The North

Backstage: Taya Valkyrie is visiting Rosemary in her layer, discussing how she is not prepared for the Monster's Ball match at Slammiversary. Rosemary informs her that even though they will be partners for tonight's match, she promised that she would give Rosemary a title opportunity. In the meantime, Rosemary will protect Valkyrie from Havok and Yung.

Mathews and Don Callis discuss how Brian Cage's doctor has stated that Cage is still not medically cleared to compete, and how this is going to affect his title match next week against Michael Elgin. More details should surface soon. In addition, they show a clip from a recent House of Hardcore event that Tommy Dreamer was in. During the match, Moose came in and attacked Dreamer. Mathews says this has crossed a personal line and wonders what Dreamer plans to do about it. After their discussion the Knockouts tag team match is announced.

Su Yung & Jessicka Havok vs. Taya Valkyrie & Rosemary

The match begins with Havok in the ring and Valkyrie and Rosemary arguing who will be the first one to fight. Havok goes over and knocks both of them down. Rosemary rolls out of the ring and Valkyrie is put in a corner with Havok attacking her with a leg choking. Havok tags Yung. Yung is able to get a takedown on Valkyrie, but Valkyrie is able to get back up and hit Yung. Back in Yung's corner, she puts her glove on and Havok tags herself in. Valkyrie runs into Havok, but gets caught midair. After a few seconds, Valkyrie starts to roll out of the ring and Rosemary tags in. Rosemary is able to put Havok in the corner and tries to lift her, but can't, so instead she is able to put her into a submission. Yung breaks it up. Havok goes for another attack, and Rosemary trips her, landing her outside of the ring. Rosemary rolls out of the ring and trips Havok again, causing for her to land into a chair, face first. Yung picks up a chair and hits Rosemary with it. The bell rings, due to a double countout.

No winners in this match due to a double countout.

Post Match: Valkyrie and Yung start hitting one another outside of the ring. Both of them go back into the ring and attack one another with chairs. Rosemary comes in to protect her partner Valkyrie. With everyone laying on the mat, Rosemary goes out of the ring and picks up her bag of thumb tacks. She brings them back into the ring and puts them everywhere. After several hits, Havok is now about to chokeslam Yung into the thumbtacks, the teams are now divided. Father James Mitchell heads to the ring to stop both Havok and Yung from hitting each other.

Backstage: Melissa Santos interviews Ace Austin about his loss against TJP and also ending his undefeated streak of winning. Austin is quite upset with the match and said that the reason he lost the match was because he wasn't prepared. Well in his words, he didn't even lose the match. TJP then shows up and challenges Austin to another match.

Backstage at the bar: The Deaners are having a drink and are discussing that what happened to them tonight will not take away from how great of a tag team they are. While they are talking, the Desi Hit Squad come in and make fun of both of them, calling them losers.

In Boston, Eddie Edwards is in a church trying to make a confession. He is telling the priest that he feels empty inside and is being pulled in a direction that is wanting him to do bad things to people. In comes Killer Kross and the priest is gone. Kross is saying that for years Edwards has been looking for forgiveness in all the wrong places and that he needs to embrace this new dark side of himself. Edwards leaves the church, telling Kross that he does not want to go down that path. Kross sits down in the church after Edwards leaves and asks the priest if he can confess his sins to him.

Backstage: John E. Bravo is talking to all the referees about how close he is to Johnny Impact and that he knows that they have a strong friendship. All of the sudden, chaos breaks out and Impact, Willie Mack, and Rich Swann all show up. Mack and Swann propose the idea that if they are so close, they should fight the two of them sometime.

The next match is announced.

Sami Callihan (accompanied by Madman Fulton) vs. Fallah Bahh (accompanied by Scarlett Bordeaux)

In the beginning, Bahh has the lead by pushing Callihan into a corner and attacking him with several jabs. Trying to push Callihan to the opposite side of the ring corner, Callihan is able to escape. Callihan then goes for a big kick. Fulton tries to get involved and the referee ejects him from standing ringside on Callihan's behalf. Callihan gives him several slaps to the face before he leaves. Now back to Bahh, Callihan has him in a headlock. Bahh is trying to fight back by hitting Callihan's face. Bahh is able to get up and starts gong for a few slaps on Callihan. With Bahh down, Callihan then looks right into the camera and licks it. He goes back to attack Bahh with both thumbs to the eyes. He still has the lead and has Bahh on the mat with another headlock. Bahh is now back on his feet and goes for corkscrew flip, putting Callihan down. With Callihan in the corner, Bahh then goes back first and slams right into his face. Bahh brings Callihan out of the corner and goes for a Samoan drop. Callihan escapes the ring trying to get some type of weapon, and Bahh is able to get him and bring him back into the ring before he tries something. Callihan bites Bahh's hand, then pulls a cactus special to gain the win.

Winner: Sami Callihan

Post Match: Callihan grabs a microphone and says that the masses want The Draw. He says that as a male performer, he is already over and is sick of the Knockouts thinking that they're better than the men. He sits in the middle of the ring and says if they fans don't quiet down, he will hijack the show until he can talk. He calls for Tessa Blanchard. Blanchard arrives and right as she is about to come into the ring, he sits on the second rope to help her in. She decides to jump over the top rope into the ring. Callihan says to Blanchard that you preach equal rights, well that sometimes you get what you ask for and kicked her right in the face. He proceeds to say that is what they're going to get if they want to be equal. As he is saying this, Blanchard rises up and attacks Callihan. The Crist Brothers come in to protect Callihan and they hold her down for him to shove his baseball bat into her stomach. Blanchard spits on Callihan and he piledrives her, officially putting her down.

After the commercial break, the six man tag team match begins.

Rascalz vs. Laredo Kid & LAX

Kid begins the match after a long stare down from both teams. Ortiz goes for a cannonball to knockout Wentz and Dezmond Xavier outside of the ring. With everyone attacking each other and hard to keep up, Kid settles it down with a moonsault, landing on both teams outside of the ring. A commercial break proceeds after that.

Back from the break, Santana has Trey in a submission and lets him go. Kid then goes after him, and Xavier and Wentz come in to protect Trey. Santana tags in Ortiz, but not too long after, all six men are in and out of the ring. Ortiz is in the ring with both Xavier and Wentz. Xavier charges towards Ortiz, only to be thrown over his shoulder. Wentz goes after Santana now, and he takes him out. Kid and Xavier cross paths once again, this time for a double cutter. All six men are laying on the mat and are slowly getting up. Now the Rascalz, Kid, and LAX are all across from another taking swings. Kid goes up to the top rope with all Rascalz stacked up on the mat. Kid goes for a 450 splash and hits all three members of the Rascalz. He goes for pin, only for a 2 count from the Rascalz. Trey goes for the double knees on LAX and gets the pin.

Winner: The Rascalz

Backstage: Santos is interviewing Madison Rayne about what happened the last time she was in the ring with Jordynne Grace and how it was interrupted by Kiera Hogan. As she is discussing this, Hogan came in and says that all the Knockouts are selfish and that there isn't really a sisterhood in Impact. Rayne then says that if Hogan wants to continue being mean, then she can step into the ring with her and duke it out.

Back at the Clubhouse: The Rascalz are happy with their win, but they are now arguing about who is going to represent their team for Slammiversary. Trey thinks he should be in the match, because he pinned LAX and got the win for his team tonight. Wentz says that there is no way he should be in it, it should be him. Trey decides that next week there should be a triple threat match between the three of them to determine who will represent the Rascalz for the Impact World Tag Team Championships. Whoever loses, will not go to Slammiversary.

Up next, Cage is backstage ready to explain his injury status.

After the break, Cage makes his way to the ring. With a microphone in hand, Cage begins his speech calling out Big Mike (Elgin) for ruining the biggest win of his career by injuring him. He then says that Elgin will not be able to break this machine. The Impact doctor comes out and tells Cage that no matter what he says, he is still not cleared to compete. Cage picks up the doctor and F-5's him.

Elgin then comes into the ring to attack Cage and does so with a powerbomb. Elgin goes for another powerbomb. Elgin rolls out of the ring and grabs a table from underneath the ring. A third powerbomb is placed, but this time Elgin throws him out of the ring and into the table he pulled out.

Three referees come to check on Cage, Callis also joins in on checking on him. Elgin grabs the microphone and says that Cage has no chance of retaining his title at Slammiversary. As he is leaving, Callis stops him and says "what are you doing?" Elgin then hits Callis right in the face, and rolls him into the ring. Elgin then enters the ring with Callis in it and kicks him right in the stomach area. As he is about to powerbomb Callis, Cage rises up and runs into the ring and starts throwing punches at Elgin, which ends the show.

Next week, three matches have already been announced for the go-home show before Slammiversary, they will be:

Johnny Impact & John E. Bravo vs. Willie Mack & Rich Swann

A triple threat match, loser will not represent Rascalz at Slammiversary
Dezmond Xavier vs. Trey vs. Wentz
